Experience
I am a college student just finishing up the courses I need to earn a B.S. degree in Neuroscience and Psychology and a B.A. in Biology and Psychology. I am attending the University of Cincinnati. Once my current courses are completed this year, I will begin working toward my Ph.D. in Neuroscience. While I love to tutor in a variety of subjects, math and science are still my specialties. When tutoring, I help students learn by teaching them how the material relates to their own lives. I also like to help them visualize problems and solutions, and I make my plans engaging to keep their attention. I also enjoy working with children with special needs; I have experience working as a sensory motor coach for children with sensory and development disorders. The children that I coached included children from three to eighteen years old.I have four years of experience as an instructional assistant. During this time, I helped a large number of middle school students improve their math and reading skills. I also acted as assistant band director, and when not helping the entire band, I gave private music lessons to individual students. I also tutored after school to help children in grades 6-12 who were struggling with science or math classes. In my free time, my hobbies include painting, playing music, rock climbing, and spending quality time with my family.
